Brian Ach’s fine art photography evokes a sense of melancholy, stolen moments, and being alone while in the company of others. He enjoys the process of film, the ritual, the exactness of the medium, which leads to a heightened sense of awareness while working. Mentored in the art of street photography almost thirty years ago by noted photographer John Strazza, he learned to let the moment come to him, rather than chase the scene. Quiet but brave observations on humanity, loneliness and beauty mark his work.

After receiving his BFA from Miami University and his MFA from Florida State, Brian has worked with Getty Images and the Associated Press across the globe for over 25 years, documenting the world’s biggest happenings. From touring with the biggest musical acts to traveling with celebrities on private family vacations, Brian’s low-key presence allows him to dissolve into the story, to be on the inside looking out. He is most know from his work with the artist Prince.

Hanging in private collections from New York to the Netherlands, as well as in institutions like The Museum of the City of New York, his work has also been seen in Rolling Stone, Spin, The New York Times, People Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, WORTH, Newsweek, Time, NY Magazine, GQ, Wired, Salon, Slate, Travel and Leisure, and countless others.
